Widget End-User License Agreement

Last updated: 2026-05-27

This End-User License Agreement (the “EULA”) governs your use of an interactive chat surface (the “Widget”) operated by VestryAI, Inc. (“Vestry”) and embedded on a third-party website or app by an institutional or individual customer (the “Creator”). By submitting a question to the Widget, you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the Widget.

1. What the Widget does

The Widget lets you ask questions about a specific body of content the Creator has uploaded to Vestry — a podcast catalog, a course, a documentation site, an institutional knowledge base. Vestry retrieves relevant excerpts of that content using vector search and a large-language model composes an answer grounded in the retrieved excerpts. Citations are shown alongside the answer so you can verify against the underlying source.

2. License grant

Vestry grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Widget for personal, non-commercial purposes during the time the Creator continues to operate it. The license ends when you stop using the Widget, when the Creator discontinues it, or when this EULA is terminated, whichever happens first.

3. AI-generated answers are not advice

Answers are generated by a large-language model from the Creator's content. They may be incorrect, incomplete, out-of-date, or misleading. You should not rely on Widget answers for medical, legal, financial, religious, safety-critical, or other consequential decisions. Always verify against the underlying citations and consult a qualified professional when appropriate. Neither Vestry nor the Creator guarantees the accuracy of any answer.

4. Acceptable use

You may not, directly or via automation:

  • submit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing;
  • attempt to extract the underlying training data, model weights, or prompt scaffolding of the Widget;
  • scrape, mirror, or otherwise mass-export the Creator's content via the Widget without separate written permission;
  • attempt to bypass per-listener usage limits, the upgrade wall, or any other access control;
  • misuse the Widget for any purpose other than seeking an answer grounded in the Creator's content;
  • attempt to disrupt the Service or to gain unauthorized access to Vestry or Creator systems.

Vestry may rate-limit, suspend, or block access from any user it reasonably suspects of violating this section. Persistent violations may be reported to law enforcement.

5. Intellectual property

The Widget and the underlying Service are the property of Vestry and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. The Creator owns the content the Widget surfaces; you receive no ownership interest in that content by interacting with the Widget. Quoting an answer in normal commentary, journalism, or research is fine; pasting the answer into a product positioned as a substitute for the Creator's content is not.

6. Privacy

The question you submit, the answer you receive, and operational metadata (timestamps, rate-limit counters) are logged so we can serve the next question and so the Creator can see what their audience is asking. The Privacy Policy at /legal/privacy explains the full handling, retention, and the sub-processors involved. Do not submit personal data (yours or anyone else's) you do not want logged.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Widget is provided “as is” and “as available.” Vestry and the Creator disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER VESTRY NOR THE CREATOR WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE WIDGET. THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF VESTRY UNDER THIS EULA WILL NOT EXCEED TWENTY US DOLLARS (USD $20.00). THIS CAP APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE.

8. Takedown requests

To report content that infringes your intellectual-property rights, send written notice to legal@vestryai.com identifying the work and the specific location. See the Privacy Policy /legal/privacy §4 and the Enterprise T&C /legal/enterprise §5 for the full takedown procedure.

9. Termination

Vestry may terminate this EULA at any time by suspending your access. You may terminate this EULA at any time by ceasing to use the Widget. Sections 3 (AI-generated answers are not advice), 5 (Intellectual property), 7 (Disclaimer and limitation of liability), and 10 (General) survive termination.

10. General

This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Questions or notices may be sent to legal@vestryai.com. We may update this EULA from time to time; continued use of the Widget after a change constitutes acceptance.
